Key points for cycling
1、 Basic cycling skills (1) The correct posture for cycling is: lower upper body, slightly tilted and extended head; Both arms naturally bend, making it easier for the waist to bend, lowering the center of gravity of the body, and preventing the impact force generated by the car from being transmitted to the whole body; Hold the grip lightly and firmly with both hands, and sit firmly on the seat with your hips.
(2) There are three methods of cycling: freestyle, toe down, and heel down.
1. Freestyle pedal method: Currently, some excellent athletes mostly use the freestyle pedal method.
This pedaling method involves changing the angle of the ankle joint according to different parts of the foot during a rotation.
Free style pedaling conforms to the principles of mechanics, and the direction of force is consistent with the tangential line formed by the rotation of the pedal, reducing the amplitude of knee and thigh movements, which is beneficial for increasing the frequency of pedaling, naturally passing through the critical zone, and reducing dead spots.
The thigh muscles can also be relatively relaxed.
But this pedaling method is difficult to master.
2. Toe down pedal method: Its pedal characteristic is that the toe is always downward throughout the entire pedal rotation process. This method has a small range of ankle joint movement, which is beneficial for increasing frequency and easy to master, but the leg muscles are always in a tense state, which is not conducive to natural passage through the critical area.
3. Heel Down Pedal Method: Heel Down Pedal Method is a method where the toes are slightly upwards and the heels are 8-15 degrees downwards. This method is rarely used during normal cycling, and only a few people use the Heel Down Pedal Method when excessive adjustment of force is applied during cycling.
Its characteristic is that the muscles change their state of exertion in a short period of time, obtaining temporary rest, and achieving the goal of restoring muscle fatigue.
2、 Turning Technique (1) Tilting Method: The vehicle body is aligned and tilts inward into the bend.
1. The center of gravity of the body leans inward towards the bend based on the vehicle, while maintaining the same inclination angle for both the passenger and the vehicle.
2. Straighten the outer knee and subconsciously apply some force, as if you are about to step on your foot (but don’t come to us if you really step on it).
3. Using the inner knee to support the crossbeam is a good way to adjust your trajectory, reducing pressure can reduce curvature.
4. The outer hand slightly pulls up the handlebar.
Two good times to use tilting: You can accelerate at less sharp turns (less than 45 degrees) to clearly see ahead but unfamiliar curves on wet asphalt roads. The two drawbacks of tilting are: on rainy days, although this turning technique can give you good traction, its angle and weight distribution and arrangement are not conducive to wet and slippery roads; The tilt technique is not as sensitive as the corresponding twist.
(2) Direction: Keep the car upright and tilt the body inward into the curve.
1. Move forward until your nose and brake handle are in line.
2. Keep the car upright and tilt the body inward (enough to straighten the outer arms). 3. Tilt the handlebar inward to the side of the bend.
4. Bend the elbow of the inner arm to pull the handlebar back, while the outer arm pushes the handlebar out to rotate the direction of the handlebar.
5. Keep both knees buckled in and continue to pedal.
3、 Up and down hill riding technology of bicycle Up and down hill riding technology is an important basic technology of Racing bicycle.
(1) Uphill cycling techniques: Uphill cycling requires maintaining normal pedal movements and not sudden exertion. In general, standing or pull-up cycling methods should not be used, as they may consume excessive physical energy.
When encountering short distance slopes, one should fully utilize the inertia principle of object motion and easily pedal. When approaching the top of the slope, one can use standing riding to increase speed as much as possible and create favorable conditions for downhill acceleration.
When encountering a long uphill, adjust the transmission ratio in a timely manner based on your physical condition. Do not wait until you are unable to ride and the speed has completely decreased before changing the transmission ratio. Be resolute in avoiding the phenomenon of restarting.
When the slope is long or steep, you can alternate the use of standing and standing cycling methods to adjust the area of force and allow some muscles to rest.
Don’t follow the car too closely when going uphill.
Due to the force exerted on the uphill, the vehicle often swings left and right, following the vehicle too closely, and a collision may occur.
Furthermore, when going uphill, the speed significantly decreases, and following the bike can actually limit one’s riding methods.
(2) Downhill cycling techniques: To achieve the desired results, one must be brave and witty, bold and meticulous, concentrate on the road ahead, closely monitor the road surface with both eyes, and be ready to decisively handle any situation that may arise on the road surface; Not only should we make full use of the inertia of the car’s motion to glide, but we should also dare to actively step on and increase speed.
When turning, the body and the car should be aligned, tilted inward, and the upper body and car should be in a straight line to overcome centrifugal force.
The inclination angle depends on the speed and the size of the bend, but generally should not exceed 28 degrees, otherwise there is a risk of slipping.
Control your speed before turning.
Gradually slow down by using the brake pedal method. When braking, try to use both the front and rear brakes as much as possible. The front brake can be slightly advanced, and the direction of the front wheels should be consistent with the direction of the car’s forward movement. Otherwise, it may cause a fall due to the weight of the rider and the inertia of the car.
Release the brake after entering the bend to avoid unnecessary deceleration.
Do not use the rear brake too hard on bends.
Otherwise, the car may turn around or slip.
4、 The technique of braking is that the front brake can provide you with excellent braking force, but it can also turn you into a flying person. Below, we will show you how to brake.
(1) When using the front brake, move your center of gravity back. When you use the front brake, your center of gravity will naturally move forward due to inertia. You must practice consciously moving your center of gravity back (lowering your body and moving your buttocks back) when you start braking.
The more your center of gravity moves back, the more braking force you can use.
You can practice on sandy or slightly slippery flat ground, accelerate your speed, use different force tracks to press your front and rear brakes, and learn how to control your brakes.
Or ask the expert how he uses the brakes while cycling.
(2) Reducing the force of the front brake when turning is like driving a car, and you must reduce your speed when turning.
If you press your brakes hard while turning, you will experience side slip and lose control.
When turning, use both your front and rear brakes to reduce your speed.
When braking, the reaction of your front wheels will decrease, so reducing the front braking force will make your turn more perfect.
If you are making a sharp downhill turn and need to use the brakes, try to use the force of the rear brakes as much as possible.
On flat ground, when braking at the last moment, lower the center of gravity backward to apply 30% of the braking force from the front to 70% of the braking force from the back.
(3) Don’t excessively press down on the front brake. “Inertia is your friend,” you need speed to pass through rocks and obstacles.
Otherwise, the wheel will stop rotating and throw you over the handle.
Excessive pressure on the front brake will cause your center of gravity to move forward, leading to a downward tilt of the front of the car.
If you use the front brake during a steep downhill turn, you must simultaneously control your front and rear brakes and not apply excessive force continuously. At this time, you can release and press the brakes one by one to prevent the brake from locking up.
5、 Mountain bike riding skills – simple tips make you more like a professional rider riding your Mountain bike on the road, bathing in the nature of the countryside with your family and children, and enjoying the pleasure of outing.
One or two things may revolve around you: or when riding a Mountain bike, you are hungry and want to get something to eat, but when you let go of one handed cycling, it is easy to fall down; When you want to drink water, your kettle seems to be far away from you and difficult to reach; When you want to observe the situation behind you, don’t worry. After our explanation, with a little practice, these small skills will become very proficient, as if they are innate abilities.
1. Do you have dry mouth
If possible, first find a flat or slightly downhill road (bumpy roads are not a good time to release one hand from the handle), do not stop stepping on the pedal, and keep looking forward instead of looking at your hand, with one elbow slightly bent and holding onto it.
The slight bending of the elbow can absorb the vibration brought by the stone road surface, and at the same time, it can stabilize any action that affects the direction of the Mountain bike when you drink water. The other hand reaches down to get the kettle. At this time, you can not look below but keep looking straight ahead, so you can keep practicing until you are very skilled.
If your water bottle is a small size, when reaching down, grasp the cap part of the bottle. If it is a large size water bottle, hold the concave part of the bottle body. When drinking, the water bottle should be facing the corner of the mouth to avoid blocking the view.
Use your teeth to remove the bottle cap. After drinking the water, use your body to press and close the bottle cap, and then slide the kettle back onto the rack. Do not look down at this time, keep looking straight ahead.
If this trick doesn’t work, why don’t you bring a bottle with you on the road or try using a hands-free drinking system by simply placing a straw in your mouth.
2. When looking back, you can’t leave the handle. At the same time, you should pay attention to the road ahead. When you look back from your left shoulder, relax your right hand and slightly bend your elbow. Although your upper body is turned, you can still keep the straight direction of the Mountain bike. If you ride very fast, you can quickly look down from below your left arm and quickly check the rear.
If you need to take a long time to check the rear, you must sit up straight, grab the faucet near the vertical pipe with your right hand, then release your left hand, and twist your body slightly on the seat cushion to look back. A professional trick: When you ride with another person, when you turn back, sit up straight and lightly touch the shoulder of your fellow rider, which will help you ride in a straight line.
3. If you plan to ride a Mountain bike for more than an hour, it is necessary to prepare some blocky food made of natural food in your pockets that can enhance your physical strength. Of course, you can’t eat a lunch with your hands, you can only eat such simple packaged food.
Before leaving, you should tear apart some of the plastic paper from the packaging, so that you don’t have to go through a lot of trouble when eating.
It is best to place these foods in easily accessible pockets instead of deep pockets mixed with maps and other items, which are extremely inconvenient to pick up.
When you are ready to eat, sit your body upright and hold one hand on the faucet next to the vertical pipe. Bend your elbow slightly to reduce vibration, then take out the food and tear it down along the part you tore earlier. Then you can eat it.
Remember, don’t throw your skin around after eating, it should be placed in your backpack.
4. Swinging riders are dangerous members in group rides, and even individual riders can endanger others in crowded situations.
If you are not sure about riding your bike in a straight line, then you should practice along the white painted line on the roadside.
But if your arms and upper body cannot relax, this simple exercise is almost impossible, so be sure to naturally relax.
Grasp your hands lightly on the handle, bend your elbows slightly, and keep your gaze about 30 feet ahead, but don’t focus on the straight line. As long as you know you are following this line, you will soon find yourself walking very steadily
The movements are consistent, and it is important not to ride slowly. The slower you ride, the greater the difficulty. Therefore, it is important to ride slightly faster and use the inertia generated by speed to drive you forward. Grasp the handlebars and brakes, and be vigilant
① During cycling, do not separate yourself and pay full attention to the road conditions. ②: Do not answer or play mobile phones while cycling, and keep a distance from others. ③: Always put your hand on the rear brake handle to handle unexpected situations in a timely manner. ④: Drive at a uniform speed, shift to a suitable gear, and maintain a speed of 20-25 yards. ⑤: Rest for about 10 minutes while cycling for 10-15 kilometers, and replenish water in a timely manner. ⑥ Check car components and tire air in a timely manner, Timely maintain and oil the car chain to ride in the best condition. The above is cycling experience for reference only.
1. To ride a bicycle, you need to look ahead. 2. Push the bike and then try sliding with your right foot on your left foot. First, slide a few more times. Turn the bike on whichever side it tilts. 3. After learning to slide, teach you how to ride a bicycle. Ride the bike first, but do not sit on the cushion. Place one foot on the pedal first, and then use the other foot to slide on the ground. When the bike is relatively stable, try to lift the other foot and step on the pedal. This way, after practicing a few more times, you will gradually learn how to ride a bicycle
When starting to learn how to ride, you need to first find a bicycle that you can sit on and easily get to the ground with both feet (for safety reasons); Then find a gentle slope (not too steep, not too long). Don’t put your feet on the pedal, stretch freely, hold the steering wheel, grasp the brake and slowly slide down. Try to put your feet on the Bicycle pedal when the bike is sliding down. Repeat this a few times and you will soon learn. That’s how I learned at that time. I learned it by sneaking around twice. You can give it a try. Hehe
